Joel became a physical therapist in 1995 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from Eastern Washington University, and earlier a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington. He is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist through the Ola Grimsby Institute and has extensive post-graduate training in manual therapy and prescriptive exercise. Joel has keen interests in human movement analysis, manual therapy, pain neuroscience, and graded exercise progression. He specializes in comprehensive musculoskeletal care of the spine and extremities, and strives to offer the best care possible based on thorough physical assessment, incorporating evidence-supported treatment methods.

Outside the clinic, Joel likes walking and hiking adventures with his wife, reading, watching new and old movies, spending time with family and friends, and cheering on his favorite sports teams. He has lived most of his life in the Great Northwest.
